My kitty

Toby is his name. He is almost 13 years old. He has been a sweet cat. Kind of persnickety at times, but that's just him. We found out last week that he has diabetes. The treatment for this is very costly and time-consuming. He's led a good life, so we are just going to let nature take its course. We did change his food to one that a friend's vet recommends for his diabetic cat patients. Our vet says he has about 3 or 4 months left with us. We'll miss him and I dread the day we have to take him to the vet to have him put down. But I would rather do that than have him suffer.

A friend has a cat with diabetes -- it *is* a very tough thing to control in cats. She's constantly monitering him. Our elderly cat has thyroid problems, which are much easier to deal with.

At least you have some warning so you can spend some happy times with him before he goes.

(((hugs to all of you)))
